1. Melee Weapons
Tactical Axe
At the beginning of the game you get an emergency pack, in that pack you will find the tactical axe.
The tactical axe is both used as a weapon and a tool in the game.
The tactical axe is upgradeable.
Utility Knife
The utility knife is the first item you start with in Sons of The Forest.
It is a very useful tool, and it can also be used as a weapon.
The utility knife is used when you craft Crafted Spears and it is used when you skin animals.
Machete
The machete is a lightweight weapon that offers moderate damage and some blocking ability. It has the advantage of low stamina drain for the damage it deals and can stagger opponents due to its speed.
Against individual foes, particularly Fingers, it can be more practical than the katana.However, the machete lacks the katana’s limb severing capabilities, making it less effective in handling large groups of enemies.

Katana
The katana is a powerful and fast weapon that can swiftly defeat even heavily armored cannibals.
It’s the go-to choice for close combat if you can consistently dodge enemy attacks. Moving around your opponents instead of standing still is the best strategy. The katana has a range that falls between the modern axe and spear, providing a balanced reach for your encounters.
The katana is upgradeable.
Guitar
While the guitar may not be a particularly powerful weapon, it offers the unique ability to be played as a musical instrument. You can explore a variety of songs with the guitar, adding a touch of melody to your survival experience!

Golf Putter and Golf Balls
The putter is a unique weapon that offers the option to play golf anywhere you desire when used alongside golf balls.
It can also function as a weapon, although its performance is underwhelming.

Firefighter Axe
The firefighters axe is slower in its swing compared to the other two axes, but it hits with a greater force. It can stagger mutants of all sizes and those wearing armor.
The firefighter axe is upgradeable.
Chainsaw
The chainsaw is a useful tool and it can be used as a weapon.
It uses batteries.
Modern Axe
The modern axe is a versatile weapon and tool. It swings slower than the tactical axe but deals significantly more damage.
The modern axe is upgradeable.
Stun Baton
The stun baton is a versatile weapon. It can be used to temporarily stun enemies, leaving them unable to move or defend themselves, giving you an opportunity to attack. Additionally, you can also directly strike enemies with the stun baton. It uses batteries.
2. Ranged weapons
Pistol
The pistol is faster in terms of firing speed compared to the revolver, but it has less power. However, the advantage of the pistol is that it can be upgraded. It uses 9mm ammo.
The pistol is upgradeable.
Revolver
The revolver is stronger but slower than the pistol. It has a limited capacity of six bullets before needing to be reloaded. Unlike the pistol, it cannot be upgraded. The revolver uses 9mm ammo.

Shotgun
The shotgun is a powerful weapon for close to medium-range fights, dealing heavy damage to nearby targets.
The shotgun uses buckshot ammo and slug ammo.

Rifle
A powerful long-range weapon with a rifle scope.
The rifle uses rifle ammo.
The rifle is upgradeable.
Crossbow
The crossbow uses crossbow bolts.
Compound Bow
The compound bow is the best bow in the game.
It uses stone arrows, 3D printed arrows and carbon fiber arrows.
Slingshot
The slingshot may not be as powerful as other ranged weapons, but it is a cost-effective and valuable tool, for example, for hunting. It uses small rocks and golf balls as ammo.
3. Crafted Weapons
Crafted Bow and Stone Arrows
The crafted bow draws faster than the compound bow. However, it has a shorter maximum range and deals slightly less damage.
The crafted bow can use stone arrows, 3D printed arrows and carbon fiber arrows.
Crafted Spear
The crafted spear is a versatile weapon, serving as both a melee and ranged weapon that you can craft.
While its melee damage may not be impressive, it compensates with its extended reach and the option to throw it for a ranged attack.
Crafted Club
A beginner-friendly weapon with good stats for a first weapon. It’s easy to craft and guarantees a solid start to your adventure.
The crafted club is upgradeable.
4. Other
Stun Gun
The stun gun is used to temporarily stun enemies, leaving them unable to move or defend themselves, giving you the opportunity to attack.
It uses stun gun ammo.
Shovel
While the shovel can be wielded as a weapon if needed, its primary function lies in its role as a digging tool.
Cross
The cross is used as a weapon against demons.
The cross is upgradeable.
Stick
Sticks can be used as weapons, but their primary role lies in being crafting materials and building components.
You can find sticks all over the Island.
Rock
Rocks can be used as weapons, but their primary role lies in being crafting materials and building components.
You can find rocks all over the Island.
Bone
Bones can be used as weapons, but their primary role lies in being crafting materials and building components.

Molotov
The molotov is a simple yet powerful weapon. It sets enemies within a small area on fire.
It’s great for taking out multiple weak enemies like mutant babies. However, stronger enemies may need a direct hit from the molotov to be defeated.
Time Bomb
The Time Bomb is a powerful explosive device, when thrown, it will explode a few seconds later, creating a big explosion.
Torch
The torch functions similarly to a stick, but with one notable difference: it has the ability to ignite and burn the target upon impact.
